Is Apple deliberately trying to exclude independent podcast subscription software?
iTunes 7 Considered Harmful DBS.
iTunes 7 breaks Juice. Apple might have changed the COM interface on which Juice relies to do its work, but they haven’t updated the SDK so I can’t find out. Perhaps it’s something in our code. Regardless: If you upgrade to iTunes 7, Juice can’t add downloaded tracks to the library.
Well, to clarify: it looks like the problems some of our users are having with iTunes 7 can be fixed by re-installing.
That doesn't mean Apple are friendly to third party developers, though. Whilst I'm fine with their trademark guard dogs, it annoys me that there is no obvious way of making Juice-downloaded podcasts showing up as podcasts in iTunes or on the iPod.

Annoying is right, I have used Juice and its predecessor for almost 2 years now basically because I think its faster and easier to manage.
I think Aplle should issue a warning with their 'do you want to upgrade' message along the lines of the new version will make it a lot harder for you to use independent software to download podcasts.
Seems to me that they have been a little sneaky about all this.

I just ran into this problem -- had never used iTunes and then installed it, can no longer use Juice. Has any fix or work-around been found?
