Communicating a merger

Ingrid Jackson’s article ‘How to Host a Merger’ is an educational narrative that describes the communications architecture that lay beneath the merger of two of Australia’s biggest financial institutions.

First published in The Well, the magazine of Jackson Wells Morris, it has just reappeared in Today’s Manager, the journal of the Singapore Institute of Management, and you can find it here.

The article summarises key learnings from the communications program for the Commonwealth Bank and Colonial merger covering activities in all phases of the complex process of corporate amalgamation: pre-merger, public announcement, post merger and integration.

Ingrid Jackson is principal of corporate advisory consultancy, Executive Management Solutions.
