John Howard: Internet can't beat radio

It's radio that puts a smile on PM's dial - Opinion - smh.com.au.

"Radio is the best means of communication because it is only through radio that you can even come close to having a personal conversation with the Australian people,' he said.

"It is an immediacy, it is a directness that is totally missing from the other mediums.'

And people say our PM (a spritely 68) is living in the past!

Any link between his fondness for radio and broadband penetration rates in Australia, Trevor?

Probably Colin; many Australians just don't have an acceptable Internet service yet. Not just speeds, but cost (I have an unlimited plan with a 12gb a month limit on it- go figure) and ubiquity (wifi is hard to come by)
