A stroganoff too far

MP's beef over size of wife's stroganoff - National - smh.com.au.

Wall Street may have had its worst day since immediately after the September 11 attacks, but Labor MP John Murphy had a more pressing matter to raise in parliament yesterday - beef stroganoff.

Mr Murphy, who is the MP for Lowe , NSW, and parliamentary secretary to the minister for trade, jumped to his feet to alert the lower house to the allegedly inadequate serving size of his wife's lunch.

And on a day when federal treasurer, and chief snarler, Wayne Swan was all over the airwaves condemning new liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull for allegedly being out of touch with ordinary people and their concerns.

John Murphy is one of those hopeless, but loyal, logs that the right of the NSW ALP has been so adept at putting into the federal parliament for so many years.

According to Swan, Turnbull is also arrogant and self-obsessed. Can you get anymore self-obsessed and arrogant than John Murphy and the political machine that supports his third-rate contribution?
