Early signs suggest Rudd tax package is an electoral winner

It's very early days yet but:

A morgan telephone poll found: "43 per cent believing the package would make them better off against 25 per cent worse off, while 47 per cent thought it would be good for Australia against 34 per cent bad".

An Online Opinion poll found: found overwhelming support for the increase in compulsory superannuation and for the reduction in company tax. Attitudes to the mining super profits tax were polarised along party lines. Just 4% of ALP voters opposed the tax, while 10% of Liberal voters supported it.
