Gmail - the good and the bad

My gmail is going well - hopes & prayers - but since I reported my earlier difficulties I've been getting a steady stream of emails and comments from disgruntled users. In fact my gmail is not working post is currently the most sought after post on my site. Sad given the effort I've put into the other 510 posts. Ahhh well. On the other hand, I still get pleas from people wanting gmail invites. I haven't got any and I suspect google is slowing down the issue rate given some of their recent problems. Still, I guess that given they are just about to IPO for billions they probably don't give a sh*t.

Now here's a blogging impact on PR Buzz Bruggeman, who developed a software product called ActiveWords, said during one BlogOn panel that he found it more effective to promote his technology through bloggers than through the mainstream press. A few dozen readers downloaded his program after a write-up in a national publication, compared with a few hundred downloads after it was featured in a popular blog. In addition, he could receive feedback from users through a blog. "You want to engage people to talk about your product," he said.
