While blogs create a public relations revolution in corporate America, the UK is only just starting to get the message.
A survey conducted by UK blog monitoring company, Market Sentinel, found that not one FTSE100 company has taken the step of launching a corporate blog.
Blogs have revolutionised corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies like Disney, Avon, FedEx, Motorola and McGraw Hill. An increasing number of corporations realise that, with 27% of Americans using blogs for news, it is vital to engage this technology.
The number of global blog users has passed 10 million and is growing at 13% a week.
Hi there
Interesting report...
The UK is lagging behind the US for various reasons but we as a company have now taken the plunge and have launched:
http://www.thebusinesseditors.com
- which is a collective blog from 22 of our editors. As business publishers blogging makes perfect sense to us on various levels. Thoughts?
Corporate Blogging is a sea change for most UK companies as the UK always seems to be slower to grasp the latest trends in marketing than our US chums across the water.
Cheers
Al

Is it really any wonder when the PR Week runs a huge feature on online press offices (surely now dead along with the press release) that doesn't even mention RSS, and continues to run an awards programme that fails to recognise the internet as a specialist communications channel?

What do you know about FedEx using blogs? I'd like to know where you got your information, because, as far as I know, we don't use them. However, we're a big company, so I could have missed something. . .
