Well the results are in and Bridge Girl’s travel blog has been deemed to be the best of the best, winning the title of Australia’s best blog in a competition run by internet company SmartyHost. This site has an ‘interesting’ angle- it’s dedicated to the art of sonic sculpture. Bridge Girl has set out to record the unique sound of different bridges around the world or as she puts it "I will amplify and record the sound of bridge cables around the world. Listening into the secret voice of bridges as the inaudible vibrations in the cables are translated into sound". Sounds enthralling.
Surely there are other blogs out there, as fellow Corporate Engagement blogger Trevor Cook points out in his post earlier today its not even a blog, that one would think are better than Singing Bridges. Hopefully the winners of the 2005 Weblog Awards carry a bit more credibility as being a legitimate blog.
Other sites such as ausculture are humorous at times but mostly the posts are quite odd, bordering on weird.
Check out the Pod Cast Network as well. It’s a good source of pod casts that are floating around the web.
Looking at reactions from other bloggers, in particular MarkL, it seems not everyone is convinced that Bridge Girl deserves the victory.
