I’m very please to announce the shortlist for the 2005 international Edublog Awards. Over 60 nominations forms went into providing this year’s list – which gives a very good overview of the quality, diversity and scope of how blogs are being used to support and extend teaching, learning, and research, and to create and reinforce educational communities.

Browser war tipped for 2006 FT.com / Business life - Paul Taylor: Explorer on the internet . In fact, with the launch of a new version of Internet Explorer (IE 7) slated for early next year, 2006 could see the start of a new browser war similar to the battle between Microsoft and Netscape in the 1990s. IE 7 is expected to build on such innovations as tabbed windows and integrated RSS (Real Simple Syndication) newsreaders introduced by some of its rivals, improve its page rendering speed and address many security concerns.
