Carpenter puts his state before his party

Deputy Opposition Leader Julia Gillard has sought to reassure the Western Australian Premier there is no need to fear Labor's plans to rip up Australian Workplace Agreements (AWA).

Alan Carpenter has raised concerns about the impact of federal Labor's industrial relations policy on the state's mining sector, where AWAs have become widespread.
