In January this year, Bill Gates said that people will laugh at television in five years’ time. It’s a view popular with people who believe that old media will die before it can change. While there’s no doubt that the advent of broadband means that tomorrow’s internet will be as much about audio and video as it is about text, it’s not clear that today’s media players will be the big losers."
