Thanks to Michael Specht who memed me on this one;
The Saints are Coming - U2 and Green Day. Great song. Its now used at St George Dragons home games!
Train to Birmingham - Kane, Welch, Kaplin. A great John Hiatt song.
Teardrops - Womack & womack. Yeah, its pop.
Things have changed - Bob Dylan
Subterranean Homesick Blues - Bob Dylan. A classic sixties music video.
Thousand miles behind - Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash. Two greats with a lot of respect for each other.
Going Down Slow - Lightin' Hopkins. I love country blues and this guy is a master.
Tennessee Stud - Doc Watson, Ricky Skaggs and friends. Watson (the blind guy), Skaggs and Earl Scruggs are the greats of bluegrass. They are marvellous musicians.
Layla - Eric Clapton. What can you say!
The Band Played Waltzing Matilda - Clancy Brothers. Not the syrupy version of the ANZAC legend preferred these days.
Forever Young - Bob Dylan and Friends. My wife and I play this on significant birthdays.
Medley from concert for Bangladesh - Leon Russell. I saw Leon do this in Sydney in 1973, unbelievable. He also played piano on Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour.
Lives in the Balance - Jackson Browne. A classic anti-Vietnam War song, updated with Iraq video footage. It works and its all the sadder for that.
To keep the meme going, I tap Kate Pounder, Paull Young, Bob Meade, Gerry McCusker and Duncan Riley.
Great list Trevor!
